Build your confidence preparing and cooking fish on this hands-on day at the Food Hub Cookery School.

Our experienced chef will guide you through the essential techniques for selecting, filleting, skinning and preparing different types of fish and shellfish. You’ll also learn a range of simple cooking methods and discover how to tell when fish is perfectly cooked.

The day combines practical preparation with demonstrations and cooking, giving you plenty of opportunity to practise your knife skills and learn easy recipes you can confidently recreate at home.

Recipes may include:

  • Mussels with Cider, Cream & Herbs

  • Pan-Fried Mackerel with Lemon & Herb Dressing

  • Baked Salmon with Mustard & Herb Crumb

  • Classic Sole Meunière with Green Beans

Suitable for both beginners and confident home cooks, this is a relaxed and practical day designed to take the uncertainty out of buying, preparing and cooking fish.

The course includes all ingredients and equipment, recipe notes, refreshments throughout the day and a delicious light lunch featuring dishes prepared during the course.
