Discover how to prepare, cook and make the most of British game on this hands-on day at the Food Hub Cookery School.

Using locally sourced, seasonal feathered game and venison, you’ll learn the essential skills needed to confidently prepare game at home. Our experienced tutor will guide you through techniques including skinning, jointing, plucking and drawing, before showing you how to turn different cuts into delicious, contemporary dishes.

The day combines practical, hands-on cooking with demonstrations, giving you plenty of opportunity to develop your knife skills, learn about different types and cuts of game, and understand the best cooking methods and flavour pairings for each.

Recipes may include:

  • Pigeon, Beetroot & Hazelnut Salad

  • Mixed Game Wellington

  • Jamaican Muntjac Curry

  • Moroccan Pheasant Pastilla

Suitable for both beginners and confident home cooks, this is a relaxed and informative day designed to give you the skills and confidence to cook with game more often.

The course includes all ingredients and equipment, recipe notes, refreshments throughout the day and a delicious lunch featuring the dishes prepared during the course.
